Io ed il buon Heintz Zaccagnini avevamo
programmato una chiacchierata in radio con Olga e C. proprio il
giorno in cui ha avuto inizio questa maledetta quarantena, ed ovviamente l’intervista
è saltata.
Approfitto allora di questa lunga segregazione
domiciliare per recensire il nuovo lavoro della band soviet-milanese, il quinto
se non sbaglio, che, lo dico subito, non delude affatto le aspettative.
Rabbioso Hardcore Punk, caratterizzato dalla voce
indomita e fiera di Olga, sempre più a suo agio nel cantare in Inglese
con accento (ed “erre arrotata”) sovietico, ed impreziosito dalla presenza di Nick
Oliveri, uno che dopo aver suonato in Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss e Dwarves ormai da qualche
anno presta Basso (e voce) anche al collettivo lombardo.
Dieci pezzi, tutti belli, anche se una
menzione speciale voglio farla per “Pussification of Punk Rock” e “Jump”,
che mi si sono piantate in testa prepotentemente sin dal primo ascolto.
A proposito di “Jump”, qua potete vedere il video,
impreziosito dalla presenza di skaters che gravitano al Pinbowl Skatepark dove “la band più pericolosa al mondo”
ha posto il proprio quartier generale e lo studio di registrazione nel qale è nato “Disco Sucks”.
Lunga vita agli Svetlanas!!!
ENGLISH VERSION
The
good Heintz Zaccagnini and me had planned a radio chat with Olga
and C. the very day this damn quarantine started, and obviously the interview
was blown.
So
I made the most of this long house segregation to review the new work of the
soviet-milanese band, the fifth one if I'm not mistaken, which, I say it now,
doesn't disappoint expectations at all.
Raging
Hardcore Punk, characterized by Olga's fierce and wild voice, more and more at
ease in singing in English with Soviet accent (and "rolled Rs").
All
embellished by the presence of Nick Oliveri, one who after having played
in Queens Of The Stone Age, Kyuss and Dwarves for some
years now lends his bass (and voice) also to the Lombard collective.
Ten
pieces, all beautiful, even if I want to make a special mention for "Pussification
of Punk Rock" and "Jump", which have stuck in my head
overwhelmingly since the first listening.
Speaking
of "Jump", here you can see the video,
enriched by the presence of skaters that hang out at the Pinbowl Skatepark
where "the most dangerous band in the world" has set its headquarters
and recording studio in where "Disco Sucks" was born.
