Ascoltando i brani mi rendo conto che il
songwriting della band di Fat Mike fa’ davvero la differenza, perché
praticamente ogni pezzo risulta al di sopra della sufficienza anche se suonato
da gruppi non all’altezza.
Tuttavia una cover per piacermi deve essere
capace di emozionare, non deve ripetere pedissequamente, fino a scimmiottarlo,
l’originale.
Per questo apprezzo il coraggio dei Norvegesi
Livstid, con la loro versione crust di “Dying Degree”, e segnalo gli Svedesi Rebuke
(“Drugs Are Good”) e Ryan Yobs (“13 Stiches”). Segnalo anche i Catalani Melting Fast con la
velocissima “The Separation Of Church And Skate”, e gli Spitting On Cops con
